What Is Sambal Card 2.0?

Sambal Card 2.0 is the second generation of the Sambal scheme introduced by the Madhya Pradesh government. The full official name is Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana 2.0. It targets daily-wage earners, agricultural labourers, construction workers, street vendors, domestic workers, and all other informal sector workers in MP. Consequently, over 3 crore workers in Madhya Pradesh benefit from this scheme. The card is issued digitally and linked to the worker’s Samagra ID and Aadhaar, enabling direct benefit transfers without middlemen.

Benefits Available Under Sambal Card 2.0

Sambal Card 2.0 provides six types of financial benefits. Each benefit is triggered by a specific life event and paid directly to the worker or nominee’s bank account.

1. Accidental Death Benefit

₹4,00,000 paid to the registered nominee if the worker dies in an accident. A police FIR and post-mortem report are required. The claim must be filed within 1 year of the accident. This is the highest-value benefit under Sambal Card 2.0.

2. Natural Death Benefit

₹2,00,000 paid to the registered nominee if the worker dies from natural causes such as illness or old age. A death certificate from the local authority is the primary document needed.

3. Permanent Disability Benefit

Up to ₹2,00,000 if the worker is permanently disabled in an accident. The amount depends on the disability percentage certified by a government medical board. Total (100%) disability receives ₹2 lakh; partial disability (25–99%) receives proportional amounts.

4. Maternity Benefit

₹16,000 per delivery for female workers — ₹4,000 before delivery and ₹12,000 after delivery. Available for a maximum of 2 deliveries per woman worker. Use the Maternity Benefit Eligibility Checker to find out which instalment you can claim right now.

5. Education Scholarship

₹500 to ₹5,000 per child per year for children of registered workers enrolled in school. The amount varies by class level. Scholarships must be applied for annually on the Sambal portal before the academic deadline in March–April.

6. Funeral Assistance

₹5,000 immediate assistance for funeral expenses upon the worker’s death. This is processed the same day or within 24 hours at the Gram Panchayat or CSC centre — much faster than the regular death benefit claim.

What is the difference between Sambal Card and Ayushman Card?

Log in to sambal.mp.gov.in with your Samagra ID. Your card status — Active, Suspended, or Pending — is displayed on the dashboard. If your card shows as Suspended, check whether your Samagra eKYC needs to be renewed.
