    The Samagra ID with completed eKYC is the single most important document. Without a valid, eKYC-linked Samagra ID, your application will be rejected at the first step regardless of all other documents being in order. Complete your Samagra eKYC at samagra.gov.in before starting your application.

    No. A bank account in your name is mandatory. All Sambal Card benefits — including accident cover, maternity assistance, and education scholarships — are transferred directly to your linked bank account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Open a Jan Dhan or basic savings account at any nationalized bank if you don’t have one.

    If your Aadhaar address differs from your current Madhya Pradesh address, carry an additional address proof — such as a ration card, voter ID, or electricity bill — showing your current MP address. The verifying officer will use this to confirm your MP residency. Updating your Aadhaar address is recommended but not mandatory if you have supporting documents.

    For online applications through the Sambal portal, scanned copies or clear photographs of documents are accepted. For CSC centre applications, carry both originals and photocopies. The CSC operator will verify originals and keep photocopies. Self-attested photocopies (signed by you) are generally accepted at most centres.

    Occupation proof requirements vary by worker type. Construction workers need a contractor letter or BOCW registration. Agricultural labourers need land records (even if they work on others’ land) or a certificate from the Gram Panchayat. Street vendors need a vendor certificate or local body registration. For most informal workers, a self-declaration verified by the Gram Panchayat Pradhan is accepted.

    Check the rejection reason on the Sambal portal under your application status. Correct the specific document issue — either provide the missing document or replace the incorrect one. Then reapply through the portal or your nearest CSC centre. There is no waiting period for reapplication after a document-related rejection.
